Hey Folks,
Tell me which handheld I should Go for, a PSP or Nintendo DS lite. I know both have their Pros and Cons so Feel free to leave a comment on why you should think PSP is better over a Nintendo DS lite or Why the Nintendo is better over PSP. Take a look at the pics…

UPDATE :-
So as promised i have got my PSP, It looks pretty good. The Widescreen is definitely stunning. So far i have played Top Spin and GTA. Graphics are pretty good and sound output is nice too. A few things that i didnt like about the PSP are that there is a lot of loading time and i can see my fingerprints all around the screen and some other parts. I will be buying some other games too and will be posting my initial review,
On The offside, i am still waiting for the Nintendo DS lite [White] to come from Australia but as of now, next week i am expecting Xbox 360 Premium to come, so i am pretty excited. 
I am really thankful to all of you for your comments and everything. There will be a final update to all this once when i get Nintendo DS lite.

Nintendo DS Lite is better. It doesn’t have load times, and it has better games! If you want movies/photos on it, just get a play-yan.

look the psp owned the ds the psp can hold a full game on a 1 gig stick can store movies muisic photos and can go on the net via wireless conn! and yes the psp dose have longer load times but has almost Ps 2 graphics on ALL games. what dose the DS lite have? a touch screen that wears out after a year of hard playing! YAY! what can u do with the DS lite? play nintendogs! woooohooooo!!! and dont even get me started on net play! o yea im typen this on my psp now! eat that nintendo fan boy!!!

well, I own both ds and psp and the best one so far is neither.The PSP is great on gaming and worldwide web multiplaying games but, the thing is that the PSP’s battery life is really short. The volume isn’t that high for the music and long load times that you can go to madagascar and come back and it is still loading. The DS is Great on the touch screen and the games are really fun.But the problem with the ds is that the screen get scratched for nothing. Something else is that D-pad isn’t that good for 3D games like Super Mario 64 DS and Rayman. The ds is good for waiting in line or something. I love both of them but if you want music and movies, photos, and alot of new and cool friends, get the psp. If you want to have endless fun, draw with pictochat, and to experience gaming with a touch screen as never before, Get the ds. Thank you.

well, i also own both, and I think that you should just get both. I mean, if you can’t choose em, buy em! The PSP has great graphics, movies, Pictures, and Music, and the DS has fun games, is compatible with GBA games, and its got a friggin touch screen! Seriously, both of these handheld consoles are great and fun. Just get both, if you don’t want to use one, use the other, like me. And, if someone asks you if you have a PSP, say, in a coolish way,”what are you talkin’ bout, i gots both the PSP and da DS my nigga!” Cool, huh? And if your walkin somewhere and some kid tries to act cool with some cheap GBA SP, Take out Your PSP and DS, and put music on your PSP, and Start playing a DS game, and act like if your very interested in your game, and say in a coolish way, “Dude, You still got dat cheapass thing? It’s so old that it saw Passion of the christ live!” Cool, huh? Thank you for your time.

I currently own a PSP and I plan to get a DS Lite. The original DS was way too ugly and the screen looked like garbage, so I bought a PSP. Now I regret buying it. There aren’t many good games for it (at least not yet) and I have an iPod for watching movies and listening to music. And no keyobard makes it useless for web surfing so the PSP just sits and collects dust ;_; I plan to get a DS Lite when it comes out. I can’t wait to play New Super Mario Bros. or Mario Kart. And the PSP, well I’m gonna keep it ‘cos I imagine better games are on the horizon. But if you’re gonna buy one, and you just want portable games, get the DS Lite.

I got a ds and ive played a psp plenty of times. I think u’s should get a ds, coz really the psp with its long load times and bollocks all battery life, isnt good for portable “on the go” system, u may as well play ur ps2, the psp games are exactly the same as ps2 anyways. If you want choice FPS games, and mad platformers get ds lite. Dont get me wrong the psp is hot and all, but i may as well just play my ps2 and watch movies and music on my ipod, gotta admit though tht screen is sexy, too bad it doesnt like getting touched.

I got the PSP and I’m in love with it. Its got great games like Burnout Legends (it’s also on the DS lite but it sucks) and Daxter and Tony Hawk’s Under Ground 2 and Shin Budokai and they are even coming out with Tekken. And you can play music, movies, go on the internet, play flash games, watch t.v., view photos, etc. Now I’m not saying that the DS lite is bad, actually I think it’s just as good. I’t has games like the New Super Mario Bros., Metroid Prime, and its coming out with Link. I don’t have a DS but my brother does and its awesome. On June 11 I’m gonna get the DS lite so I’ll have both. In closing their both awesome in their own right and I’m getting both as should you.

Well first of all let me start by saying that boths systems are pretty cool. However, the main thing that counts when getting a game system is good games. This is why the DS Lite is probably the better way to go at this time. The DS Lite has a lot of great games like Mario 64, New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart, Metroid, Castlevania, Brain Age, Nintendogs, and of course let us not forget the Legend of Zelda game that will be released in a few months. Combine that with the ability to play all of the great GameBoy advance games that are available and you really can’t go wrong with the DS Lite. Now don’t get me wrong, the PSP also has a lot of cool features, like watching movies and listening to music, and surfing the web, but remember that this is a GAMING system and it is really lacking in the good games department at this time. Until the PSP starts coming out with more quality games, the choice is clear. The DS Lite already has a good collection of quality games and also has a great lineup of games to look forward to.

Battery life is what really turned me off from the PSP. Some times it’s as short as 3-4 hours, while the DS has never gone less than 10 hours, sometimes much longer. When I am on a plane trip or sitting at jury Duty I find I am always worrying about the PSP battery, or trying to find a recharger. With the DS I never worry. I can go a day or more before recharging. Sometimes I completely forget it even needs charging… it lasts that much longer.
Sony should have avoided the Mini disc player, it’s a battery hog. There’s nothing fun about a game consol that is out of power.

Well i have the same delima . Im planning on getting a DS . Great price , great re-design , and the games are a plus . The PSP on the other hand is great , great graphics , but the price is high . And the games out for it now are not really good . So in my oppinion just get a DS lite . Great games , and its fun .

The DS is wayy better than the PSP. I am getting a DS tomorrow and ive played both systems. AS said above, the PSP has long load times. Once i started a poker game on it, put it down and it took so long to load i actually forgot what game i was playing. The graphics are decent but thy aren’t great. The DS has a better screen, better games, and longer battery life. The PSP also sucks as an MP3 player, get an ipod instead. And, the UMD format blows hard. People are starting to stop selling UMDs and the format is going the way of betamax. Plus, how can u not get the system with Zelda on it?

The psp screen gets scratched very easily and the ds lite has better games and shuts and is very stylish. Go for the ds because u dont need a wi fi connection to play with other peeps u justneed to be near them its great!

i have both a ds lite and a psp. ds lite is better. i always thought tht the ds SUCKED big time, but when i got a ds lite, that completely changed everything. now i am more comfortable with a ds lite and i havent used my psp for quite a while. i will use my psp for games like burnout and gran turismo, but i will keep the ds lite for the cool nintendo games and all the innovation involved. i am in love with both systems for when they come in use, but i think that the ds lite came over the top this time. (finally nintendo has a design that they can be proud of.)

i have a ds lite and a psp but i still think the psp is way better because you can play music with it, see movies with it, see photos with it, add walppapers to the psp ,acces the internet with the psp, play awesome games with the beautiful screen,The psp has a bigger screen and is lcd. Fits in your pocket, good color, plays umds which stands for universal media discs.On the Other hand the ds lite has an awesome shape and color has two screens. one is the normal screen to see while you are playing and the bottom one is to use it to navigate thru menues play games and is realy small but its your decision to buy the one that fits your life style more but i diffinately go for the psp 100% more.

what the frick!? us nintendo ds fanboys have a big point to put across. if you think the psp is better, then why is the ds outselling the psp 10 to 1? is it its insane price tag, or is it because it doesn’t have all those amazingly cool nintendo games, the sweet touch screen, the mic., the ability to have a map and game going on at the same time, the perfect price tag, or just because its so frickin awesome? now i am both a nintendo ds fanboy and a sony psp fanboy. as I said earlier, i LOVE both the psp and the ds lite very, very much. but i think that nintendo has finally gone over the top on this one, and i think that the psp has sweet features too, but the ds’s innovation really puts it over the top. the old ds was mediocre, but the new is frickin awesome.

have you even tried the ds lite? i always thought just like you did “the great one” but now since i got the ds lite it has completely changed everything!!! just try one sometime and mario games are awesome especially the new super mario brothers and super mario 64 ds and mario kart ds and other games like nintendogs wario ware touched metroid prime hunters kirby canvas curse and so on. well, everything the psp can do the ds will be able to do too and probably better thanks to the gba flashpack or whatever it is, so getting a psp instead of a ds lite would be just for the beautiful screen and the nice graphics. plus the only reason theat the ds lite has such blitchy graphics is because it has to power two screens at the same time and that takes a lot of power and they need to save space on the cartridge and need to save polygonal space so that is why the textures are so squary. there is a ds game that is coming out soon that will use only one screen so that it can use its two processors and it will have psp graphics top that!!! there are some nice games on the psp but i think that you should get both systems. But I dun like 2 screens..i want to look at one..not at 2 screens..and btw u can buy another psp battery ..if u have the firmware1.5 u can play games of nintendo 64 , gba , nes ,snes…can u do that in ur Nintendo ds lite?..i think not..=).
also..if u have a good memory stick .,.1gb/2gb..(firmware1.5)..u dont even have to buy games…u download them from internet…im telling all of u this because i already have a psp with 20 games..and i dun even bought 1…=)
I like more PsP cause i can listen music..watch movies(nintendo ds lite can do this with the Play-yan..but its screen is very small)
im a great fan of MMORPG’S..i prefere the Psp Wi-Fi..

1. having two screens is amazing because you can have a big and helpful map on the bottom and the game going on at the top.
2. PSPs are going to come without firmware 1.5 so there is no way you can get homebrew games on a psp in the future and if you think that homebrew games are fun wait until you will be caught and have to pay thousands of dollars for downloading ILLEGAL games!!!
3. with the ds you can get demos at places like gamestop for free and are completely legal and fun, especially using the TOUCH SCREEN!!! or the MICROPHONE!!!

I own(ed) both, and I have to say, hands down the DS Lite. Though the PSP is pretty cool looking, it’s all really just a frontage. Yes, it has a better graphics card and larger memory space, but for what? A few racing games (that are good, but they get pretty old), Grand Theft Auto, and Tekken. GTA was a bit of a disappointment, in my opinion, and Tekken was amazing. But other than Tekken, I got bored with my PSP and sold it to my friend with all the games for a hundred bucks. The reason for me just selling it away? The DS Lite. Games like Mario Kart DS, Super Mario 64 and New Super Mario Bros., Metroid Prime Hunters, Wario Ware Touched!, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, and even Nintendogs, which was, very surprisingly, an addicting game, DS Lite takes the cake. The original DS was too big and awkward for my taste, but the Lite gets rid of those problems. Play Metroid Prime Hunters on worldwide WiFi and you’ll see what I mean.

see, people like no name are wise. listen to them. all the psp is is a downgraded ps2 that has its own screen and is portable, and is missing two shoulder buttons and an analog stick.
i don’t have a ps2 so it is to my advantage.
but you have to admit burnout for the psp was phenomenal, but the ds has many more phenomenal games. just look at brain age and the new super mario brothes!!!

Yea, the ds is so much better in terms of games. I had 2 frens who had a psp. One got it as a gift, but he got bored of it after a while and left it to collect dust at the corner of his house. And when he started playing my ds, he got so addicted to it, that he wanted to buy 1 as well, though his not a gamer. Another fren of mine, also said i made the right choice of buying the ds as the games they had are really innovative and different and fun. PSP is good tat is if u are a fan of pretty graphics and multimedia on the go

exactly. race driver 2006 for psp is so laggy that smetimes it even goes down to 10 fps!!! the best i get in that game is 20. average is 15. burnout legends also has some frame rate problems. usually racing is smooth, but once you get all thoe effects going it can drop to 5 fps!!! now super mario 64 ds has amazing graphics, and the framerate is phenomenal. plus having all the downgraded ps2 games makes it useless unless you are like me and you don’t want a ps2 and you don’t have an ipod. ds ALL THE WAY. DS IS OUTSELLING PSP 10 TO 1!!!

about the new technology…it is an attachment for the ds that will allow the ds to watch movies, photos, and listen to music. it has 4 gb of storage and costs only about 200 dollars. plus the ds broser with be comming soon and that won’t cost much.
so is it worth getting a ds with the attachments or just to get a psp? ds. here is the proof:
ds$120+attachment$200=$220
psp$250+4gb memory stick duo$200=450
the ds saves you $230 dollars!!! so…if you have decided to get the psp instead of the ds lite with the attachment then YOU HAVE PROBLEMS, OR YOU ARE SOME RICH SCROOGE.

I’d definitely get a DS Lite for sure. I’ve also got the DS TV tuner card and the wifi web surfing card so I can easily surf the net or watch TV whenever I visit my grandparents in Japan. PSP has none of these features, even if it does, web surfing will take ages on it since it only uses a simulated keyboard whilst the DS Lite uses handwriting recognition.
Also with a DS Lite you can vs other players through wireless connection (play with anyone in the world!) Another thing PSP lacks.
Pfft, who cares if PSP can play music or videos, my iPod does that, and it sounds better on an iPod too.
Also Nintendo has MUCH better and more original games than PSP, a greater selection too.
Sum it all up; DS Lite has MUCH MUCH more capabilities than the PSP

for comparison sake,
DS $129 vs. PSP $179 – $199. another $60 or so gets you an accessory bundle (a game, headset, other misc. stuff at costco or the like).
i haven’t looked into prices for the above attachments, but it still seems like after you buy upgrades for PSP or DS, it looks like DS will still cost a little less. Guess i’m off to best buy to check prices.

I live in iowa and the psp VALUE PACK costs 250. you can only get the psp that cheap if you get just the system. and sorry for the ds lite price mistake. i meant 130 but i said 120. but folks…even if psps can play games, they are cheap and laggy remakes of ps2 games that are overpriced, so ipod videos are WAY BETTER.

You guys have no idea of how thankful I am now that I have read your opinions. My family is going through a tough time financially, and my birthday is coming up soon. You guys should go visit Japan, the DS Lite is like a must-have over there. Seriously get on their public transport and you’ll see like 3 out of 5 ppl playing with a DS Lite. Gotta trust the japs when it comes to the best technology, and from what I’ve seen, they prefer DS Lites over PSPs

I have decided on the DS LITE. I spoke with a NIntendo Rep yesterday and he stated that the Wi-fi adapter/upgrade will most likely not be marketed in the U.S. because of the lack of response to it in Japan. He did indicate that the Japanese version would work here tho. You just need a trial and error session as the interface is in kanji (not an issue with me fortunately) . So that being resolved, I also heard that there is a mod adapter for the DS that will allow you to run public domain or homebrew software (like created for Palm Pilots). anyone now the websites to buy adapter for ds and to buy general program like palm with ph#, notebook and schedulerer. Id like to replace my current palm pilot with the DS.

It seems like most of the people that own a PSP own it just to say they own it, and dont really play video games on it. and the people that actualy play video games all have a DS or both. I want to play good games and loose track of the time while I do so. The DS seems better built for this and it plays all those great GBA games. The PSP does not match the DS when it comes to Gaming.
(Unless u have the older firmware[which gets upgraded when U play any new games] and Hack the hell out ur PSP and get 2G memory stick and 2 extra Batteries and spend the time looking for all the roms u want download and shell out about $600.00) No Thank U. My 600.00 is for a PS3 Not a PSP

even if the price will drop, it will still be more expensive then the ds. plus the crappy remakes of ps2 games called psp games are overpriced. i, and i forgot that i need memory. get an expensive memory stick duo. oh…yah…i only got the system instead of the value pack…what do i need know? the protective case and wristrap, which costs over 20 dollars. and a whole bunch of other shit that costs too much. see, if the psp price will go down like taht, it will only be for the system only bundle, the value pack will still be expensive, and even though the price will go down, the ds makes a better portable system.

psp pretty much fails every meaning in the word “portable.” let me explain:
durability: scratches as soon as you touch it. if you drop it a short distance it is doomed.
battery life: ABSOLUTE SHIT. (i have the extended battery too). 5 hours max. sometimes 4.
loading times: when we are on the go, we aren’t at home, all relaxed with unlimited time. us portable players have limited time to play. we can’t wait for the loading screens to finish their race.
here is how the ds does:
durability: doesn’t scratch unless you push really hard with your finger nail. screens you can touch all day without a care in the world.
battery life: up to 19 hours on brightest settings, 9 on highest. and don’t tell me that the psp needs more battery consumption bullshit because ds needs to power 2 screens which takes up alot of juice for the backlights and the 2 graphics cards that you need in order to power the two ultra-bright screens, so more energy consumption.
loading times: blazing fast, perfect for on-the-go gaming.

actually you can buy a ds battery at gamestop and other places. i actually SAW the battery there!!! owned!!! oh yah, and the psp screen suffers from extreme refresh rate problems. movies have great picture quality but they have such severe motion problems that a big action scene looks like something that came out of a drunken-sex scene with YOU being the main character. owned!!! and having two screens is so kick ass that its incredible because you can have a map at the bottom and the game going on at the same time or you can have a dual-view movie like the one on metroid prime: hunters which looks so cool you have to gawk at it!!! oh and don’t forget that the ds has much brighter screens with more clarity and contrast and looks frickin’ amazing!!! owned!!! and at least they are durable!!! owned!!! and the ds lite has a variety of colors such as pink, white, black, light blue, navy blue, and more to come!!! and what the hell is up with selling a game and then wanting it back? i think that that idea is total crap because you should think before selling a game. plus if you want to get the same game again that probably means that you would want to do it again. owned!!!

oh yah, and don’t forget that the psp really isn’t raw power. you get better graphics and gameplay on consoles. the psp has a 333 mhz processor that is capped at 222 mhz which means that sony downgrades everything and the psp could have been faster. i know there is that homebrew around that can uncap it but it might screw around your system. the psp at first is way more impressive than the ds just because of the multi-media, and the graphics, but once you get it and play with it for a while, you do notice a lot of weaknesses. trust me. you should not of had sold your ds. get a ds lite and let the psp go away from your world.

there is no way possible on this planet that having two screens is gay. future ds lite games will use one screen insted of two so that they can have more graphical beauty, almost to the psp potential. so watch out having two screens has hundreds of functions in games but the traditional one screen offers less excitement. if you had a computer game you would have to have two graphics cards to power two screens and would not have as beautiful and smooth graphics but you got a hell of a better experience, with a map or extra display on the second screen!!! so you could turn off one screen to have more performance, or switch it around. and what if that screen was a touchpad? and what if it had a microphone attachment right between the screens? that would be so kick-ass that nintendo nailed the innovation and the experience that kicks performance and good graphics in the ass, but is also reversible. HOW COOL IS THAT!!!??? that just defies how cool final fantasy 4 for the ds lite will be. on the psp it would not be as cool, because in the ds lite game it will bounce around from two screens and one screen off. it surpases any psp experience out there:-D

This means that they won’t put a single shred of effort into developing or standardizing with 3rd parties a console-wide offering to appeal gamers to their platform. This means that Sony will do everything in their power to put content rights in your brain without giving you a single game.
If that isn’t enough, search for reviews akin to “where is PSP now”. A close friend of mine purchased a PSP a while back and has concluded that he uses it for little more than watching movies on planes. These movies are – yeap – pirated. He conceeds that realistically, the PSP is no gaming platform. As his plane-going is coming to an end, his PSP will probably find it’s way to the side of a table to collect dust.
We aren’t Sony’s customers. The companies and groups they sell the promise of DRM to are. We are Sony’s platform.

A week before getting my DS Lite, a coworker was gaga for PSP, citing all the bigboy appeal. I too am a big boy, but with a big brain as well (that was NOT a reference to the game “BBA”). Monday after June 11th and no doubt stoked with his own research, he’s thinking DS. After seeing mine? I don’t think it’s a question anymore.
Does any of this speak to Nintendo’s future performance? No. That is yet to be seen. But for a few games and the backwards compatible selection of two systems (GBA on DS and GameCube on Wii), I’ll buy into Nintendo’s current offerings. All in the hopes that enough people will move to the system to influence quality game makers to step up the big boy titles. Would I switch to Nintendo because they are TECHNICALLY superior?

I would switch because they are one platform and my soon to be Wii won’t break on me half a year in with no sign of support available…

a reply to xxxking: today i played my ds lite outside in public when i was waiting for the school bus to bring us home. i remember playing my psp at the mall. i got ta tell ya when you are playing for 45 minutes straight (we had no 8th period that day because of conferences so we had to wait) with a ds lite and a psp goddam there was a huge-ass difference. the psp was heavy, and the way it is constructed makes you only able to hold it in one way. my wrists and fingers got tired and sore after using the psp at the mall. the ds lite? holy shit what amazing comfort. i could change positions depending on the action, and controls were really nice, the system was virtually weightless. it was so amazing that just typing this may send me to tears. man, the ds lite owns in comfort. seriosly.
and dont forget about the sun-battling brightness!!! i could see every detail perectly outside. the psp? many things are faded out, it is hard to see.
playing in public with a portable system has never been so comfortable and rewarding as the ds lite experience. after playing it i felt refreshed and ready for the day. playing with the psp your hands are ruined and you need to stretch them out to get them to work properly
p.s. don’t forget the attention that you get from a ds lite. my friend watched me play most of the time before he had to go for a ride instead of doing his homework. he was really impressed by it. psp, nah, nobody really believes in them anymore. bring them on the bus, nobody really pays attention. bring the ds lite on the bus they actually ask quiestions about it, and watch me play. the ds lite is so unique and such an amazing piece of hardware that some people actually give a flyin’ leap about it. its also nice nice because i had it in a sexxy black color O_O

I’ll give you some advice though, facts you should consider: Yes the psp has a bigger screen and better graphics, but that means shit if you have a collection of absolute garbage as games to play with. If you are not too concerned about loading times on most of the games, less multimedia capabilities than DS Lite, annoying web browsing functions and lack of multiplayer with only one copy of the game.

i can definitley see the ds lite sitting right next to an ipod. they seem like partners. it would be cool if they made another ds lite with ipod quality videos and music and photos and really fast internet and better faster graphics and even lighter sleeker design and the ability to play game boy color games.
i don’t really like the multimedia on the psp. yah, i am listening to gorillaz on my psp right now but the mp3 quality sucks. its the closest thing to an mp3 player that i have. psp isn’t made for multimedia. i don’t think that it has any strong points. its a system taht definitely can be improved.
psp’s screen is nice and big, but it’s resolution is still to small for some games on it. don’t forget the hellish refresh rate. its the worst refresh rate that i had ever seen in my life
. also, the ds lite screen is clearer and has more contrast and better, more bright colors.
the better graphics on psp will not be as great as ds lite’s when final fantasy 3 will come out. the ds lite has two graphics cards, which means two gpus, and twice the firepower and less lag and better graphics. although it has lower processing power, it still has the graphical power over the psp. the psp is also capped at 222 mhz instead of its full capability 333mhz processor meaning that sony never keeps in mind how much frickin’ lag that there is in those laggy psp games!!!
so yah. ds lite has a better future tahn the psp. the ds lite has so many more things that it can do that will be able to do in the future even better than the psp. ds lite owners or future portable buyers, STAY AWAY FROM PSP!!!

Lets rap this up. I don’t own either of the consoles, but neither wins or looses because we first need to say what kind of syestem we want. I want a portable system that plays good games on the go, which is why i will most likely get the Nintendo DS Lite. Im gunna get a phone which has ; room for downloading pictures (but whoo realy needs that, the point is getting them onto the computer not onto ur console), videos (same thing, i wanna upload dem not download dem),mp3s and most of all, i can take pictures and videos. So who realy needs a media center when i have my phone? Im not downloading pictures onto mi psp thats a waiste of time. The only good thingz are playing games, mp3s, movies and downloading other games. I personaly dont care about movies, ima bout da games, and the games on da psp are da xact same as mi ps2 so thats pointless. And downloading extra games onto your psp just costs aditional money with extra memory sticks and garbage, its not ready outa da box.
DS Lite has more possiblities with the touch screen. Better games for the road, and games that i wouldnt be able to play on any other modern system (most of them at least) Its smaller, lighter, brighter. The screens are far more protected with its new design. i cant think of anything bad about the DS Lite
Now keep in mind this is in my case. If you dont have a phone with all those features, you may want a psp as ds lite Lacks in the media area. But if your looking for the best portable gaming console, get the DS Lite, and if your looking for something that can go on the internet and store mps3s and movies, you always have your good old PC or you can use a Laptop. If not, you can get the overly priced PSP
P.S. there are many other gadgets out there now a days like pocket PCs and palm pilots that can do far more than the PSP could ever hope to do.

Overall all portables SUCK. The ds lite is superior but still doesnt convince me againts PSP. Why couldt the Sony just not fuck around with portables and leave it to nintendo. Yeah I agree with XXXKING with the fact that there are not alot of ds shooter games, the only 2 I can think of (that are not baby games) are resident evil and mp hunters. But I have tried playing shooters on my brothers psp and I must say I prefer the stylus movement ALOT better than the controls on psp. I think it’s much more accurate but that is just me. Aye you will see what I mean once you start playing fps games on the psp. I suggest you keep the ds lite and first find someone who has a psp and a shooter game and try it out.
I have played both consoles before, I used to play with my brother’s psp quite a bit till the ds lite came out. As soon as i got the ds lite I completely ignored the psp, lol it even got my brother to sell the psp and buy a black ds lite.

dude as i said before my dad smashed my white ds lite because he wouldn’t give me 5 minutes to finish my brain-age daily training and i tried to get it back from him. he stomped on it like about 5 times AS HARD AS HE COULD. i was surprised the internal hardware survived. he really hit it hard!!! both screens were cracked, the glossy cover was cracked, and there was a small gash by th control pad. the screens would have survived if my dad hadn’t hit it right by the hinge. but the system stilled worked!!! this just prooves just how durable the ds lite is. i was extremely impressed!!!
i think if it was my psp in its place it would have been torn to pieces, hardware scattered all over the floor, memory stick here, battery there, disc way over there, disc cover hinge there, screen scattered allover the place, whole system would have been annihilated. psp SUCKS ASS at durability.
the next day we went to our local gamestop store and purchased a black ds lite. when i opened it holy shit it was the hottest electronic i had ever seen in my life. it looked chick and elegent, and don’t forget about the reflection of the glossy paint. you could use it as a mirror!!! black ds lite looks so bad-ass it makes psp look like the original gameboy!!!
p.s. i didn’t miss a day of daily training ^_^

oh yah, i tried metroid prime on the ds lite. man it was awesome!!! it was so cool aiming with the stylis. hopefully i can get that game next, then do some online play. (if there is any for metroid prime.)
yah, psp controls aren’t that great. not only does the laggy gameplay screw up you style, it makes the game less thrilling. the analog stick on the psp is not that great to use, it doesn’t move around enough like the console controllers. overall, i highly prefer the ds lite for fps games. the touch screen makes the most accurate aimer around, until the wii will be out.

homebrew are games that are created or copied from one system to another. for example:
you may take super mario 64 and make it compatible with the psp. that is homebrew. that is illegal homebrew.
you can also create your own game like 3D chess. that is legal homebrew.
beware: MOST HOMEBREW IS HIGHLY ILLEGAL!!!
you also need firmware 1.5 to play homebrew on a psp. homebrew on a psp sucks ass because how hard it is to install etc. on a ds it would be much better.
i have never seen the ds 2. i should go check it out!!! hopefully they bump up the processor speed to get better graphics and some higher screen resolution, but the current ds graphics are pretty nice already.

While the psp looks like its mainly for guys, the ds lite looks more unisex, so are the games. My gf and i often vs each other on mariokart, and this ‘persuaded’ most of my friends to get ds lites as well. So now whenever we can in uni, we’d all meet up to have a massive 7 player mariokart race. Hehe I’m responsible for getting them addicted to mariokarts

i just came back from best buy!!! i love that store!!! i got a new case for my black ds lite, since i didn’t feel secure with my old one. i also checked out some super sweet bose speakers for my computer. holy shit i need new ones, mine are crappy harman/kardon speakers and they should be like 10 years old, and they are yellow from age!!!

when i take my 30 minute bus ride to school i sometimes bring my psp, or i used to. the loading times wasted more than 5 minutes of that time. nearly 15 minutes if i am redoing my crash mode or road rage. loading times are absolute shit when you have limited time on the go, so the stupid little umds really ruin your portable experience.

Yeah I ordered the DS-X from an european online shop and it arrived abt 10 days later. So far i’ve put heaps of games onto it and haven’t took it out of my ds lite yet. It’s a bit pricey but well worth it as it also has a browser and multimedia player.
The TV tuner you have to get it imported from Japan as that’s the only place that sells it atm. Got mine when I visited my grandparents there. It fits into the DS Lite card slot and just put it in and you can start watching TV on your DS Lite

Oh yeah don’t forget to get the DS Lite Rumble pak as well, unlike the old Rumble Pak, the new one fits PERFECTLY into the GBA slot on the DS Lite without sticking out. That is another must have accessory for DS Lite, just a shame they don’t make it in white.

when you compare 2 games that or on both the psp and the ds lite, usually the psp game ends up being better, however, it is still nothing compared to its console version. the ds lite comes with new and fresh games taken from multiple ideas or games and mashed into some really fun and unique games!!!

Like how they claimed psp is more popular than DS Lite, turns out the figure Sony gave was only the number of psps SHIPPED, and only about a sixth of that figure is actually SOLD, and yet they claim they are the leaders in portable gaming, ROFLMAO!!! Gets scratched when you clean it? What do you clean it with? Bloody sandpaper? There are cleaning CLOTHES for the DS Lite, they do absolutely no damage whatsoever to he DS Lite. Anyway there are HEAPS of DS Lite protective cases to prevent scratches.
There are Nintendo Wi-Fi USB adapters for PCs available in most shops so you can connect to the Nintendo Wi-Fi from just about anywhere.
As for that DS Lite TV Tuner I don’t know any online stores that sells them yet, but I got mine when I visited my grandparents in Japan. But here are pics of it if you want:

you want more proof eh? i am back after spending half an hour trying to type with the psp up there, but now i am on my computer haha!!!
so now. xbox 360 has over 10 times the amount of memory bandwidth than the ps3, meaning if you have a pixeled mess on the screen, you need to use that memory bandwidth to push all those effects out the end of one wire to the other, so xbox 360 sill boast higher framerates.
the xbox 360 has a frickin’ unbelievable cpu. it contains a 3-core cpu running at 3.2 ghz EACH. the cell processor in the ps3 has 8 individual processors that help streaming power, more meant for videos. as you can see, the xbox 360 cpu has advantage over games, while the cell processor of the ps3 is meant more for video streaming or other multimedia.
the gpu in the xbox 360 runs at 50 more mhz than the ps3 and has more pixel shaders and other graphical advantages. so of course, the customizable gpu in the xobx 360 beats that inside the ps3.

the psp puts up a good fight with the fantastic graphics but the ds comes out on top. the games are incredible. Mario Kart, metroid prime, super mario bros. i cant think of a single great psp game. the graphics aren’t as good but the games and the long battery life give it the victory. and when 80 percent of the population who buy this stuff have an ipod youre paying and extra 120 dollars for a piece of crap movie player. the movie graphics are TERRIBLE. everything is blurry and the pixels look bigger than a super lego block. u can buy a dvd player that has no blurry spots for 50 dollars so why pay 120 for a blurry dvd player? still wondering. and a regular cpu owns the internet part i think the psp is overrated. in the past sony products have broken down on me where as i can still use my snes but have already gone through 2 ps2’s due to technical problems. ds to me is a better deal.

anyway, i think that the virtual controller might be used in the future in some games…but remember that the wii came with the normal wii controller AND the nunchuck, but NOT the virtual controller. so, i guess that it wont be used for games except those on gamecube and the virtual consoles. oh well…something might happen…;-)
the ds probably doesn’t use its 3-D capabilities as much because the games that come out are sometimes better 2-D. Like the new super mario brothers. 3-D characters but 2-D world. hardly takes any juice from the ds, but its better that way. same thing with kirby canvas curse. some games like super mario 64 ds and final fantasy 3 do use the 3-D capabilities of the ds, and do look fantastic. i am still amazed at the super mario 64 ds graphics!!! however, if you were to turn off one of the screens (like what they should have done with some games) it takes some of the load off the system, so who knows the power of the ds? who knows what effects it could create? who knows if it could do near psp graphics? i know that with a lower resolution screen it could somehow catch up with the psp…

dude…something really cool just happened. i was at walmart and i was just looking at the xbox 360 section, which of course, xbox 360 is my favorite next-gen console. so, right beside me there was a few xbox 360 premiums behind the glass display. pretty sweet. now i was just having my fun looking at the games when my dad comes with a store manager to where the xbox 360 were. the store manager comes and opens the glass display, and takes the xbox 360 premium and brings it over to the counter. my dad pays for it. i was too bidazzled to do anything, just stare at him while he payed. i had to buy my first xbox 360 game which ended up being burnout revenge. the problem is that i have to wait until christmas until i can open the box and turn on the next-gen monster. man i can’t wait!!! i believe that the xbox 360 is the true definition of next-gen, having being the most powerful console and having a great line of games and online service to back it up!!! my guts are begging!!!

Anyway, I’m going to own a PSP by the end of this year, and I got to admit, I have no reason whatsoever to change my mind.
Honestly, I don’t CARE about the battery times, the load times, and the sales numbers. All I care about is the QUALITY of the handheld, and that’s what pursued me to buy a PSP.
See, I didn’t really like the games that Nintendo offered (I’m a FPS and Action player), and since they still offer the same types of games in the DS Lite, that didn’t really please me. Now, I know you like the Nintendo games, so please don’t post saying how the games aren’t bad, I know they aren’t, just for me I don’t like them.
Also, I want to have other features to a handheld rather than just gaming and online gaming, so a PSP was like a dream for me. Music, Movies, Pictures, Internet, Homebrew, An available TV feature, and an add-on Digital Camera. The last two cost extra money, but honestly, they’re worth it.
Also, and some of you may argue with this, the great games. I mean, I’m a Metal Gear Solid Fanatic, and when Hideo Kojima made MGS: PO exclusively for the PSP, I was thrilled. Besides that, there are now tons of AAA games available for PSP, you can check in any gaming sites.
Last but not least, yes, the PSP do cost more money, but the price dropped significantly these last few months, and since I don’t want to carry a laptop, an iPod and a handheld all at once, this really is a great price for such a multi-tasking machine.
So in the end, it really depends on what you want. If you’re a hard-core gamer and just want to play games whenever you want for a long period of time, then go and buy a DS Lite. If you want to do other things in a handheld and prefer graphics and technology over battery and short loading times, then buy a PSP. Honestly, everyone has different tastes, and I hope I helped you choose the right handheld for you.

this post is to pwn any psp fanboy that come our way. we come here and we discuss how bad sony and the psp is, and how great the ds lite is, and we love to argue over it. this is serious competition for us.
anyway, just to tell you, your portable dream will be shattered because the multimedia on the psp is horrible!!! the photos look pixely on the screen, the mp3 quality is highly inferior to the ipod, putting videos on your psp is so hard that it can get you to the point where you feel like destroying your psp, the ds does homebrew better, and has a better tv feature. add-on camaras will probably come out for the ds lite.
just to tell you, psp is pretty much the lowest quality hand-held on the market, especially the fact of dead-pixels, brocken hinges, and the faulty square button. heck, my psp has serious screen burn-in, really bad square button, unresponsive right trigger, and a small drop made the side panel thing cave in. i also had hinge problems. seriously, psp has no quality to it, and i made my parents and i waste so much money on it. i have no problems with my ds lite, so i can say that it is a high-quality system.
sony’s pitiful handheld is really below average. instead of getting a psp, just get a ps2 since it costs less and has better quality games that costs less, or maybe save up for that piece of shit ps3 and waste your money on that too.
after owning a psp, i would strongly reject it. i think anybody out there would prefer the ds lite if they gave it a chance, so don’t even think about the psp. psp BAD. i learned it the hard way. i don’t want you to suffer. i care for you. so just get yourself a ds lite and i bet you would enjoy that.

anyway, there is a new psp coming out in a few years, but if you want to get a psp, wait for the ceramic white psp or import it from japan, if thats easy especially with lik-sang gone FUCK YOU SONY!!!
the ceramic white psp is better than black because it looks better, its buttons are higher up and aren’t made of that slippery clear material, the buttons below the screen are raised out a little more to provide easier access, the joystick is now is more accurate, the screen is a little bit better, and the latch is sturdier.
just to tell you, i would agree with storm animals that getting the psp or the fancy ceramic white psp would be a waste of your money. by the time you buy the ceramic white value pack and get a game and a memory stick, i bet you could afford an xbox 360 PREMIUM. plus xbox 360 kicks ps3 ass because of games like gears of war, halo 3, forza motorsports 3, and don’t make me tell you the list, and features like the most comfortable controller ever made and xbox live and proooooovably better graphics and a whole bunch of other things. just to tell you, sony sucks, and i would never buy any of their consoless. i believe that microsoft and nintendo should control the market. i think we only need two consoles for two different genres of games, plus, all ps2 exclusive games would be better on xbox, considering the better controller, graphics, and xbox live. well thats my opinion, but it is also very factual.

oh i remember the days in junior high…there were like 5 kids on the bus that had mario kart and a ds, and i remember having so much fun racing against everybody. it was so much fun, but when i got a psp, nobody had one on the bus, so i would be sitting by my friend while he played the ds with his friends and i played the psp solo, and it was pretty lonely.
now i bring my ds lite on the bus, but my friend doesn’t which means i play solo. but i have so much fun now, much more fun than i had with the psp, especially with games like warioware: touched and super mario 64 ds and the new super mario brothers.
the people that i played mario kart with are a grade lower than me, and since i am a freshmen in high school, they don’t ride my bus. next year they will come and return to the awesome playing of the ds!!! now i can tell them how stupid i was for making rants that the psp was better than the ds, and we can get all along!!! not to mention not to surprise them with my super sexxy black ds lite!!! i can’t wait to be a sophomore!!!

oh yah, another quality issue with my psp is that it randomly freezes a few times a month or so…it gets ANOYING, especially with the faulty square button and the overused and poor-working shoulder buttons and the screen burn-in and the delicate surface, and so many bad things with the psp!!! i stand by these words:

first of all, ds has better than n64 graphics not to forget that it POWERS TWO SCREENS WHICH TAKES QUITE A BIT OF POWER!!! also, the better graphics on the psp are useless when you have a shit game library.
second of all, the “mini ps2″ just has cheap remakes of ps2 games, and trust me, after seeing the difference, i am mearly disgusted by the psp games. not only do they lack quality, but they charge more for it!!! also, a ds cannot be a “mini n64″ simply because it is so innovative and has many titles that are either bumped up in quality or completely different from the n64 games, so what you said right above there is just about one of the craziest things i have heard on this post. you are getting nowhere but humiliating yourself.
third of all, just because the psp has a better resolution, doesn’t mean that its high def. it just isn’t. neither is the ds, however, having two screens is way better than one. i live with both systems and i am overwhelmed by how awesome the dual screen really is. watching game movies like on metroid prime that have two different viewpoints is simply unbelievable, which is definitely better than having one screen and one viewpoint. i am simply appalled by how amazing the dual-screens are, especially when you combine the touch screen and the microphone together.
fourth, just because you have tried both systems, it doesn’t mean that you will definitely think that the psp is better. living with the ds lite is definitely more enjoyable and easy, and its a fun little system thats just loads of joy. i can’t even stand my psp anymore. the multimedia on it is simply terrible, and not to forget the in-game is terrible with the horrible line-up of games. psp is a worthless system and i don’t think we need sony to ruin the portable market, hell, i think microsoft can replace their consoles and do better that way. we don’t need a “middle system.” we also do not need a second portable company. nintendo rules the portable market, and sony is the lamo trying to catch up.

I have a ds lite and a psp. Plain and simple, the ds lite is better. The psp is only good for media. Also it has few good games, and the games they do have take EONS to load. People think because the psp can play music, videos, and movies etc. that it is better than the ds. The ds CAN play music and movies. Although the psp has slightly better graphics it still cant compare to the gaming experience on the ds lite. To prove that the ds lite is better I made the pros and cons of the two systems:
ds lite
PROS: touch screen, microphone, brighter screen,more fun. cheaper. picto chat, longer battery life(14-15 hours). download play from down load stations, more durable.
CONS: graphics not as good.
psp
pros: better graphics
cons: breaks easily, too expensive, only good for media,and loads TOO long.
CONS: graphics not as good.

What I find funny about all this is that there are sony fans here crapping on the nintendo “fanboys” about how their games are childish, yet they are the ones resorting to childish behavior by calling the “fanboys” names and other profane comments. And I read somewhere above about someome telling the “fanboys” to stop talking about psp load times and battery life. You just named two of the most important things about a handheld system or any other portable device for that matter. Psp fails miserably in both areas. I own a psp and am about to change to a ds. Don’t get me wrong, I like the psp for what it can do, I just don’t think it suits my needs. I want a portable gaming system that I can have fun with and rely on. Psp seems more like a second console to me as the majority of it’s games are replicas of their console counterparts. It even has the same price tags as their console bretheran. Psp is a great multi-purpose device, while it lasts, but the ds is the perfect handheld and will last. Plus it’s far cheaper and offers a greater library of fun games. Notice how I said FUN. Personally, for the psps price tag and capabilities, I rather get a pocket pc. Has the same features minus games and some media plus a better battery life and shorter load times.

woahwoahwoah what are you guys talking about the multimedia on the psp is SO BAD. first of all, the music quality sounds pretty poor. i tried my dad’s new ipod nano and since i had gotten used to the psp, i nearly cried because the tone quality was so good.
also, the photo viewer is really bad compared with my monitor. everything seems so blocky and ugly. there are a lot of colors but you can’t see a thing!!!
even if psp has umd video and a big screen, the screen has a major issue. the refresh rate is so bad that if you saw a scene and i guy was walking past the camera, you would see like 5 copies of him trailing behind him. psp screen may be large but its just to blurry in motion to look at it comfortably.
also, the psp is just about the hardest multimedia device to work with in videos. there are files that are scattered everywhere that take up only a certain file type and it doesn’t even work if you take your video file and place it everywhere. you need a special converter and trust me, i have one, and the last time i tried putting video on my psp was a disaster.
don’t forget that you also have to spend another 100 bucks if you want to get a decent memory stick with 2 gigs. hell, the ipod video has 30 gigs and only costs 250 bucks!!! thats as much as the psp value pack!!!talk about psp being a good multimedia device!!! god that thing will consume more money than an 80 gb ipod video if you want to do some multimedia that sucks on it!!!

Hell, most of them are probably in love with the psp purely for aesthetic reasons. Look up the word aesthetic because judging from all the psp fan’s posts, I highly doubt they know what that means. And who cares about the new psp or redesign(if and when it does come out). You’ll still be paying as much as you would for a nintendo wii. I’d rather have a wii and buy myself a ds. You psp fans can keep playing crappier versions of your ps2 games for three hours at a time, and don’t talk about the upcoming redesign because I highly doubt you guys are going to shell out that much cash to buy another psp. I’ll sit here and enjoy my ds and wii for just a little more dough, but with a whole lot of original and enjoyable games. Oh, and be sure to shell out some more cash to protect your psp from scratches and drops. I’ll just close my ds when Im done with it to protect it.

yah, psp compared to ps2 controller is absolute shit. psp makes a really bad shooter game player. the ds can definitely replace those games with metroid prime: hunters. you make samus walk by using the control pad, shoot with either of the triggers, but you use the touch screen to aim. how cool is that!? then you can tap the touch screen at certain places to make your character jump or use power-up weapons. i can’t wait to get the game and try it out for myself!!! i already played multi-player but i can’t wait to get the game!!!

i would have to say the ds lite is better… it has a very nice sleek design and just like XXXKING said…how can u play shooting games with the joystick in such and odd spot on the psp? well yes i have played both systems and again the joystick on the psp is in an akward position and it also seems very stiff, i played my friends psp for about 10 minutes and my thumb was indented for the rest of the day… i like how the nds shooting games take advantage of the touch screen, say metroid prime hunters, its a lot easier to play when u can control the aimer much easier. this is speaking for both systems but its funny how the games are getting smaller (nintendo) but the systems are getting lots larger…now that dslite has got the makeover it can fit in your pocket a lot easier without being so clumpy but i mean come on your not going to carry a psp around in your pocket its like a big brick and last but not least its weird how people keep on saying how the screen of psp is so much bigger and thats so good…well not necessarily again i watched a movie on my friends psp and i pretty much has to have the system 5 feet away to actually enjoy the movie…not that inconvenient but still, the ds has the right sized screen so even tho its still small its about the right size to be portable..and for my conclusion… mario games are not kiddie games, lots of people finished college still are getting a kick out of playing mario games and me being 12, i am still getting loads of fun out of mario games…and will be for some time to come. i would say if you like something new and a new way to see video games get the nintendo ds lite. and if you want to be able to listen to music watch and movie surf the internet and play a game all at the same time…(not like you ever would or could) get the psp. in the end i still say that nintendo will be beating sony 20 years to come i mean heck sony seems like such a good system but look at nintendo’s sales.. nintendo also meets the price requirments of most fans, well there i go again so see ya!

Paolo Mondodori, have you ever been on the nintendo wifi connection? It is nice. You can connect with people from in your country and all over the world. All you need is a wireless access point which you can find about any where. You can find these at cafes, Mcdonalds, and many different restaurants. Or you can get the wifi usb and turn your whole house into a wirless access point. The best games for wifi would be mariokart ds, metroid prime hunters, starfox command. There may be other good games with wifi but those are the ones I have for now I will be getting more games for my ds lite soon.

Anyways, some good games for the ds lite are mario kart ds, starfox command, metroid prime hunters, castlevania portrait of ruin, asphalt urban gt2, mario hoops 3 on 3, and new super mario bros. I can keep going but the list is too long. Oh yeah and to answer some of your other questions,I think for the friend code on wifi you will actually have to know that person to get the friend code. But Ill give you my friend code for mario kart ds, and starfox command if you have those games. Here they are mario kart:150411, and at the bottom 549071. starfox: 567932, and at the bottom 012223. i have never been on wifi yet, i do have a wireless router at home however we use a special NEW security code and it is not compatible with the ds lite. i have no idea what it is. the only video/mp3 players for the ds lite i have seen is the “max media” one over at best buy. there is also that awesome ds-x card, but i have never heard of “supercard lite” and “super key.”
well, i live in iowa so i have no idea how much ds games would cost in india. our ds games cost from 20-30 bucks. pretty nice price!!! unlike that shit psp that costs 40-50 for each ported game for a stupid mini-disc that holds only 1/4 the data and that costs more than a ps2 game!!! good lord i don’t know how people can have fun with psps nowadays with such a shit collection of games.
if all you do with the psp is media than why not get an ipod video? you can get it for the same price but it comes with 30 gb and is easier to work with and sounds A LOT better. good lord sony is wasting their time and money. The supercard lite is like the ds-x, only not as good. You can play mp3, videos on your ds lite, but you can also store DS and GBA roms on the supercard so you no longer have to swap cards/cartridges to play games.
I still recommend the DS-X. much better with built-in mp3 player and web browser

The DS-X has 4 gigabits, which equates to around 512MB, that means you should be able to fit up to 10 DS ROMS obto the DS-X.
As for the DS forum, I always go to http://www.ds-play.com to vs players from around the world, btw that website compares the DS not the DS LITE, and given that both DS and DS Lite each outsells the psp, that should mean something. psp is owned, twice over.

Oh WOW vibrate thats a great feature. Who needs vibrate.Also the Wii is cool and the Xbox 360 all it has is Halo and Gears of war. plus the ps3 will get better games later. ps3 and WII are great ps3 is better and Xbox 360 doesnt have advanteges (only Halo and G of W ,HD 2) Wii is good for great games controllers but has bad graphics. Another thing good is it wont be like the gamecube that sucked. PS3 has good graphics and blu ray.

Alright, to use the friend code feature you must first get friends codes off your friends or ppl from the ds play forum who wants to play with you. You enter it into Mariokart DS in the Nintendo WFC section. Now for a multiplayer there must be at least 4 players. So choose a time when all players can connect onto the Nintendo WFC and you guys can start racing, easy as that.
You don’t have to know the person, just go to the DS-Play forum and start a topic asking who would like to start a game of Mariokart with you, I’m sure hundreds will reply, since MILLIONS of online Marokart races are held each day.
My gf is playing with my Mariokart DS right now so I can’t check my fc atm, however I can give you the my fc for metroid prime. I’ll check my Mariokart DS fc tomorrow and ley ya know.

The weather in southcarolina is pretty good, but it can get very hot during summer. And in winter the temp drops to about, at lowest i would say about 16 degrees Fehrenheit, but it very rarely snows.
oh yeah, and i also have alot of experience with mario kart because i have mario kart double dash for gamecube,and i have had it for n64.

another psp fanboy. just blurting out a random statement. give us some proof!!! you’ve got the crappiest overpriced line-up of games on any system, umd movies are expensive and have no extra features, the mp3 player on it sounds highly inferior to the ipod, videos look bad and are the hardest thing to put on, you have to go out and spend a ton of money on those memory stick duos, the photo viewer looks bad because the psp screen is to small, the screen looks bad because you have refresh-rate problems, the analog nub is very uncomfortable to use, its heavy and uncomfortable to use, the loading times completely ruins your quick-portable experience, the battery life sucks, it breaks very easily, the internet browser is slow and clunky and it takes forever to type on it, the shoulder buttons are clunky and sticky, the square button is defective, there are a lot of dead-pixel issues and screen burn-in, the internet setup is extremely hard, there isn’t very much online support, its overpriced, and it fails pretty much everything to the meaning portable. see all those problems with the psp? i say psp sucks go ds lite.
these are the only problems i have with the ds lite:
can’t change brightness during games, gameboy advance games stick out, can’t play gameboy color or below games. thats all the problems that i have with my ds lite. see a huge difference? pretty easy to fix problems? i do. ds lite pretty much nails the word portable and it is a great handheld thats cheap and a quick, fun, and very diverse way of playing, with really nice games and has a secondary gameboy advanced library. borat=very nice!

Paolo Mondadori, my favorite mario kart game would have to be the one on ds also because it is a nice game and you can just wip it out when ever you feel like it. Then on top of that you can get connected to the internet with no problem at all. My favorite charactar would have to be Dry bones. I like him because his cart has near perfect acceleration and because he’s just cool like that. My favorite courses are waluigi pinball and rainbow road. Actually I like cheep cheep beach also.

u are terribly mistaken because the ds can do the same thing that the overpriced psp can do. It can play mp3s, movies, videos,and hold pictures. I have a psp and the ds lite is better by far.(trust me). The ds lite has a better back lit screen ,longer battery life,(much,much longer) a better library of games plus a touch screen wich makes it way more fun. And dont start b!tch!ng about,” ooh the graphics arent as good “or “the psp has a bigger screen, so what. and even if u can do more things u can only do it for like 3 or 4 hours anyways. But the ds lite can last almost forever!(15-20 hours). So u do the math. i have never tried dry bones. my friend says he likes him too. he has a terrible top speed, but i will have to see about that. oh!!! forgot about rainbow road!!! you know that part where you do the full loop? do you ever notice that when you do that part you feel as if you are flying, or being lifted somehow? its frickin’ awesome!!! i think its the only video game that does that!!!
one thing thats frickin’ amazing about the ds lite that the psp doesn’t have, besides the touch screen, dual screens, and microphone, is pictochat!!! i remember lmao while sending my friend the funniest pictures. its definitely better than instant messaging because you can either type or write your messages. hell, you can draw whatever you want and send it to the person who you are chatting with. i have so much fun with it, especially the fact that you can do multiple figures and languages. psp doesn’t even have anything like pictochat, and if it did, it would take forever to type it out. don’t forget that you can’t write either because psp doesn’t have a touch screen!!! boooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
psp SUCKS. leave the multimedia for the ipod, its a lot better. in fact, i saw the new ipod video screen, and it is brighter and has much more detail, smoothness, and picture quality than the psp screen. it doesn’t even have the slow refresh rate!!! woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i declare the ipod video better for videos, and music, and pictures, and you can do a slideshow while listening to music. the sound quality is frickin’ amazing on the ipod video. tell him, storm animals!!! so…next time you are taking a long haul trip, bring an ipod and a ds lite and you should be good to go. or get the max media thing for ds lite with 4 gb of storage!!!

Wow, this is getting really pathetic.
Just so this is understood, I own a DS Lite and I am in love with it. Mario Kart is brilliant, and the New Super Mario Bros. is probably the most addicting Mario game I have played since Mario Bros. 3 came out back in the day.
But holy crap, Paolo whatever. You are making an ass of yourself. Is that all you like to do is sit here and just rag on anybody who has a psp? To each his own. I’ve played my friends PSP and SOCOM, Burnout, any sports game, and Metal Gear Solid are well made quality games. And if you claim they are just ps2 games, well SOCOM and Metal Gear Solid are completely original and made excluisively for the PSP. Not only that, I’m kinda jealous, because his sports games for PSP are way better for on the go gaming than the ds has for sports games. I am not much of a sony fan, but its completely unfair to make the judgements you are making which are completely hypocritical. Take it easy guys.
Once again, I like my DS lite more, but I’m just saying, PSP is still a decent machine.
And I have a question for Storm Animals. I wanna buy that Ds-Xtreme thing for my ds lite, but where do you think I could get it cheapest, and what would shipping costs be like if I were to order and I live in the US? And also, can I play SNES roms easily on the DS with that, or is there something that works even better than the DS-Xtreme for that?
I lied. I have more questions. I own a Storage 256 memory card, can i put mp3 files on that and have it play on my DS lite with no extra peripherals?
And if you answer my questions, keep in mind that I’m kinda on a tight budget I need to start preparing to move out so yeah. Thanks for your time if you can get around to answering this.

The DS-X is all about the same price everywhere, not alot of difference. No idea what the shipping would cost if sent to US, but you can probably check their website for details. It’s just very hard to get your hands on a DS-X, because like the Wii they are VERY popular, as soon as the stores get stock they’ll be sold out within days. I don’t think the Ds-X can play SNES roms, but it is still the best modchip for the DS because it doesn’t involve flashing so there is NO CHANCE of fucking up your DS, most damage it can do if you muck with it is fuck up the DS-X card but your DS will remain untouched. That is why it is so popular (and expensive).
Hmmm, unless that memory card already has a built-in mp3 player software that is compatible with the DS no you can’t play the mp3s. The DS-X does have a built-in mp3 player so you can play your music off that. It also has a built-in web browser so you can also search the net.
Look, if you can afford the Ds-X then I highly recommend you getting it, because you will can simple download DS roms and save them on the DS-X, so in the long run it will save you heaps of money on DS games, not to mention web browsing, multimedia etc etc.

wtf. psp behing a decent machine? man sony does not know how to make portables. i have one, and i can say that the sports games and racing games and whatever are all overpriced and are nothing compared to the similar ps2 counterparts. i have seen such a huge difference in the console and portable versions. let me tell you psp games are really bad and that i don’t need to pay 50 bucks a game when i can get a console version for less. hell, pay 50 for burnout legends for psp? i had to pay only like less than 40 bucks for burnout revenge for the xbox 360. seriously, psp consumes too much money, everything that you need to buy for it is overpriced. then the memory stick duos? SSOME of us don’t like to play our games on tvs because SOME of us never have the time to sit down and play a game because SOME of us aren’t freshman in high school. Listen, I never get a chance to play my 360, and I really miss my sports games. The psp would be perfect for someone like me. Either way, I’m spending the same amount of money on a console game I won’t use and a memory card for a console I won’t use. So the PSP is not complete shit. I like my DS lite way more. Hell I spent about three hours playing it already today. And you are right, the psp is too much money. But if I had as much money as storm animals over there, I would probably own one, along with Madden, NCAA 2007, NBA live, and metal gear solid. Doesn’t mean I would ditch my ds lite. I’d still play it more. I just gotta get my sports game fix.
PS thanks for the information storm animals, greatly appreciated. I’m gonna shop around a lil’ bit more and see what I can find, but I’ll probably end up getting a ds-x.

i don’t have time to play my new 360 either. i have had so much homework and swimming practice and a whole bunch of stuff. i have only like 5 minutes before i go to bed today so i’m not going to play my 360, and it sucks, because i want to play burnout revenge really bad.
fine, waste your money on a psp. just to tell you, the psp games cost like 50 bucks, and they are nothing compared to the console versions. plus having it in your hand is extremely uncomfortable. if you do get a psp (which i think you really shouldn’t) don’t get the black one. it has problems and its square button is unresposive. get the white one. import it from japan or something.
in my opinion the psp is complete shit. i have owned it and i am extremely unsatisfied. it fails every meaning to the word portable and it simply doesn’t work!!!
what about the weekends? don’t you have time to stay up really late and play those sports games hour after hour? thats what i do. stay up till one in the morning. start playing like at 7 or sooner, maybe do some variety things. its fun stuff!!!

paolo mandadori, do u know any short cuts on maro kart ds? well i do. if u race on yoshi’s circuit u will see a little opening once u drive for the first few seconds next all u have to do is snake at the right time and u will boost on to the other side. it really helps. i learned this from a dude on wifi yesterday. he told me about all of this advanced snaking techniques. he really helped me out. i talked to him over ds-play.com and his stats were near perfect. he had 308 wins and 8 loses. and another guy’s stats were 2079 wins and 709 loses. and guess which racer they chose? they chose dry bones, my favorite. they beat me terribly and i thought iwas good cuz i won most of my races.

yes i knew that one from yoshi curciut in double dash. there was a part where you boost right off the side of a cliff and then enter some kind of tunnel. i was shocked!!! i got really mad when i fell off but then i freaked out as i entered the tunnel. it was pretty funny
anyway, there is one shortcut in dk pass. i have not found it but it is some kind of short cut where you go and you get really good items. i found out about it when i played like 5 player wifi match on our school bus. it was lots of fun
i choose luigi with his vaccum because he has the highest balanced stats for any vehicle in speed and acceleration, and i do prefer him over dry bones. go give him a try!!!

well, paolo mandodori, i like luigi too but i prefer dry bones or yoshi because of the handling and acceleration. Well the reason I like dry bones is because of how small the dry bomber is.The lighter the cart and the more acceleration the better the kart rides on dirt that slows you down and the better the jumps will be when you take a short cut. i made a test and took the short cut on yoshi’s circuit with every kart and the only karts that made the jumps were dry bones, luigi, and yoshi. ooh yeah, and i think i did see someone on wifi take the short cut to dk pass, because i was ridding down the hill with the cliff and all of a sudden he came out of no where and jumped right in front of me. i was so mad. i was in the league too man. then it ended in my defeat. ill try to find out more on that short cut tho. and if you get any info let me know.

hey guys!!! i took my psp with me to chicago and back when we had a 2-3 hour road trip to pick up my mom from o’hare. i watched the pink panther and van helsing on my psp and listened to some music. i played a bit of burnout but since i got used to the 360 burnout revenge i was disgusted with the graphics!!!
let me tell you about the psp screen. i have now with full confidence, that it nearly sucks!!! let me tell you why. first of all, the refresh rate issues are mearly annoying, and if you see a character move a bit you see a lot of trailing, and it does look bad. especially in action parts it really does look blurry and bad. i think the psp has the worst refresh rate of any screen i have seen so far. its mearly disgusting XP
second, the contrast and brightness is seriously messed up. for example, if you were watching some semi-dark and semi-bright part of a movie, the dark parts would be completely dark, and then they would be washed out by the screen back-light. its looks bad, especially when i was watching van helsing when there were dark scenes.
i saw the ipod video screen, and i watched a music video. its freakin’ awesome!!! the ipod video screen shows twice as much detail on the screen, and it looked a lot clearer and sharper. the refresh rate was perfect and the colors looked amazing. i can’t wait to get my hands on one!!!
well, psp makes a pretty bad video player through my eyes, and the umds are freakin’ stupid.

i should be getting my 80gb ipod video in a week or so. the money from my grandmother should be arriving the 20th. i can’t wait!!! the zune also seems interesting. anybody who has a zune, what do you think of it? i saw the screen and it is HUGE. i heard it makes a better video player than the ipod video, but what about music? does it come with games that uses the awesome click wheel? most likely not, but i will have to try it out sometime. its a pretty interesting product, but as of now, i should be looking forward to my 80gb video, or if i don’t have the money, i will get the 30gb.

first impressions of psp are interesting, the good graphics, the multimedia, and the whole system itself. lets keep in mind that once you have to go out and buy the memory stick duo and you see the TERRIBLE line-up of games and you notice the multimedia isn’t that great you really start to think “why did i buy this piece of shit?” and thats what i am thinking today. i wish that playstation never came out with their lame portable and i would have stuck with my brilliant ds. then i would have gone crazy over the ds lite, which i wasn’t really much but then decided to get because of the GAMES and the awesome restyling. ds was pretty much a beautiful system flawed by bad design and screens. the psp on the other hand, fails miserably in every area. the only good thing about it is the graphics, but if such crappy games come out for it, what are the graphics worth? the only good psp games are 2 dimensional, and even if the screen is big it still suffers from extreme refresh rate problems, and contrast and brightness problems, and i am sick of it!!! what a waste of money and time.

i forgot to say that i notice something about ps3 graphics vs. xbox 360 graphics. since the xbox 360 has a much more advanced graphics card, it looks a lot better.
i have noticed that with ps3 and 360 similar games that the 360 version looks a lot better, and the ps3 version has far away textures that are blurry and not as sharp. xbox 360 does look better, and the gameplay and graphics are better.

hi everyone, my bday is coming up and i’ve actually read all the comments above (it took a lot of time and aspirin). the real question i have for Paolo is, is the DS Lite graphics as good as the PSP? i went to BEST BUY the other day and i tried the PSP, it was awsome. I also tried the DS Lite, i’m not sure if the graphics are usually like that or if it’s just the game i played. So yeah i know the prices are really far apart but if you were to choose the console that plays better graphic games, which would you choose? i don’t mind the short battery life or the loading time, i just need a console that could play good quality graphic games. recently i have just given away my Nintendo Gamecube. Why? The graphics in the game totally sucks. I tried the PS3 in BEST BUY and it totally rules, the graphics are fantastic. So i really need to know which console is better in graphic and quality. i don’t care about the old-schooled games or any of the bad stuff i just need a GOOD QUALITY GRAPHIC CONSOLE. thank you!

of course psp has better graphics, but the system does not have any quality games. almost all the games are taken straight from ps2 and poorly made and formatted for the psp. and they are overpriced!!! why was gameboy so popular? THE GAMES. the psp has terrible games. i hope it crashes and burns soon because it doesn’t deserve to belong on the shelf. do NOT get the psp. its a waste of time and money.
the battery life is horrible. it only lasts about 4 hours or less. the loading times can range from 15 seconds to OVER a minute. it freakin’ ruins the portable definition and experiece!!!

just because the xbox 360 has been out for over a year, doesn’t mean that it isn’t more powerful as the ps3. the gpu in the ps3 is terrible for next-gen compared to 360. the gpu in the ps3 is basically an nvidia 7800 GTO nicknamed the “RSX.” the xbox 360 gpu has not been made yet and is not available. it is the ati r600 and it is customized with a unified pixel architexture that allows it to be extremely powerful. ever seen the differences in call of duty 3 for ps3 and xbox 360? you notice that the xbox 360 is far clearer, sharper and better looking. the ps3 version is washed out, and textures, especially far-away textures, are blurry and look pretty bad. this is permanent and it plags every game in the ps3. xbox 360 graphics simply look better.
the xbox 360 cpu is also very easy to work with. the ps3 is nearly impossible to work with, and game developers are struggling with it. the 7 spe’s with single thread design in the cell are nothing compared to the 3 cores with dual-thread technology and 10x the memory bandwidth in the xbox 360. CORES ARE MORE POWERFUL THAN SPES!!! xxxking you know nothing about hardware so don’t come bitching at how much more powerful the ps3 because it ISN’T!!!
the wii’s graphics are actually more powerful than the xbox, however, developers have been lazy. later on we will see better graphics. did you see resident evil 4 for gamecube? it was next-gen on last gen. the wii being more powerful, will look even better, so don’t think you will be seeing sucky graphics for a long time.

uhm guys? please don’t argue over two electronics. all i needed to know was which console had better graphics. but Paolo, DS games are usually kind like adventure games right? Kind of like Pokemon games where you have to do all these quests and stuff right? I’m not really that kind of person. I’m just looking for the good graphics thats all. But hey, i’m not saying DS LITE is bad or anything. I have a DS and it’s pretty good too but i don’t find the graphics good enough on DS so DS LITE’s graphics would probably the same as the old DS. Burnout Legends is good but its nothing compared to Burnout 3. The graphics are WAY worse and there is no damage to the traffic in crash mode!!! total dissapointment!!! TOCA Race Driver 2006 is nothing compared to the console versions, and the graphics look terrible and the gameplay is extremely laggy. Ridge Racer was fun but we’ve got Ridge Racer 6 and 7 which look a lot better and last more than a few weeks like the psp version does. Need For Speed: Most Wanted 510 was terrible. a cheap copy off the console. it had no story mode, just courses that you went to. no free run city, no damage, stupid cops, and unfair gameplay and unbearable loading times. Wipeout Pure was okay, not the best, but it is slightly more advanced version of the playstation 1 version. Hot Shots Golf: Open Tee was fun but the graphics were terrible and there are better console versions. all the games here are not too great, and rather taken off from the console versions and made a ton worse with worse graphics.
Super Mario 64 DS was a phenomenal game that had much better graphics than the n64 version and had more characters and stars to get. it also featured more levels and more bosses. it was great, the graphics are impressive, and the touch screen minigames were highly addictiv. you can’t find this on gamecube, and it is a bumbed-up version of a brilliant game. New Super Mario Brothers was galactic. you can’t find this on consoles. it was so much fun!!! It still one of those great ds exclusives that you can’t find anywhere else!!! it also had awesome minigames that used the touch screen AND microphone. multiplayer mode was unbelievable. brilliant game!!! Mario Kart DS was freakin’ awesome and it was the best Mario Kart EVER. you get really cool characters and amazing new courses and the freakin’ amazing online play support that never got old. there are also courses from the gamecube and snes systems. the gamecube version actually looked pretty good, and i like the graphics. Wario Ware: Touched is impossible on a console. it only uses the touch screen and the microphone, and you would have to slash and cut and stab at your touchscreen to complete freakin’ fast microgames that thrilled you and addicted you. i loved the use of the microphone to blow into it because it was something i had never done before. having 2 screens on that game was particularily awesome. Brain Age was very fun and friendly with its sudoku puzzles and the math and stuff. you can also do brain exercises by writing in the numbers and by speaking on the microphone!!! it was a fun game and i got a kick out of it and i learned how to do sudoku!!! thanks Brain Age!!!
as you can see, there is a difference in the games. psp games are quite inferior, and the ds lite games are superior. no console to date can match the ds lite’s innovation with the touch screen, dual screens, or microphone, and all the addiction is started from the games, the innovation, and the simple pleasure of owning a ds lite. no loading times. long battery life. amazing games. innovation. great price. it all makes this handheld so much better than psp.

Ummm, as for people playing ds lite, actually the old ds looks lame on a 20ish person, however the ds LITE suits the mainstream. In fact, in my city, on the morning train u can see alot of businessmen in their suits playing the ds lites, mostly brain age cos of the way they hold the ds. So it’s actually not lame to use ds lite, I’ve even seen heaps of mums playing with their kids. However psp haha i have yet to see someone older than 20 playing one.

psps do suck in my opinion, and i have proof to back it up. read all of the above, and you will see that you don’t need it and it is a waste of money. i have lived with the system, taken it into my home, sheltered it, played with it, bought the necessary software, and what do i get? hey, i saw a guy with a blue old ds and he was playing brain age and he actually looked pretty cool and smart with that thing, and i was pretty impressed. his kids digged it too. you don’t realize just how many adults have a ds because of brain age, and how little adults have the psp. its a pretty lame device for adults considering how low level of a gadget it is.
actually i think the psp is overpriced and the ds lite is a perfect price. think about the psp games. the umds hold 1/4th the data of a ps2 game discs but costs usually twice as much!!! not only that but the games SUCK.
the psp screen is terrible compared to the ipod video screen, which has twice the resolution and better colors and a much better refresh rate. yes, the ds lite has brighter, crispier screens, and they also have much better contrast, so no more dark spots!!!
and who doesn’t love mario kart?

what the hell are you talking about? ds lite is THE portable in the world. its the most popular, and best handheld ever to come out. the innovation, the fun, the games, it all boils down to a wonderful system for everybody. psp can’t do that.
ds lite never gets boring. they aren’t baby games. if they were baby games they would be rate E 3+. what are E and T rated games for? everybody 6 and older for E and everybody 13 and older for T rated games, and there are a few like metroid prime which is a kick-ass game. hey, atleast the ds lite doesn’t have those crappy ps2 remakes that are overpriced and cost 50 bucks. ds lite has games that can’t be done on any other system. psp is just a ruined ps2. who needs it?
so why are you saying that you waste one screen on the gameboy games? are you jealous because we’ve got a dual game library? is it because we’ve got over 2,000 games to choose from? yes. you are coming up with shitty excuses again. get a life. psp games suck. and i know that you will be able to play original playstation games on the psp but you need to spend 500 or 600 bucks on a ps3 before you can do so.
you do realize that the wii is like 5 times as powerful as gamecube? later on developers will quit being lazy with graphics and start to use that potent hardware!!!

ds lite games are so much better than those crappy ps2 remakes. you can get brain age and a whole bunch of other games for 20 bucks too. most ds games cost under 30. most psp games cost over 40. 20 dollar psp games are EXTREMELY rare. oh wow, i have seen all the games on psp on ps2 only like thousand times better. dumbass, at least they change something and change it well on ds games. psp games they change and make worse, ds they change and make it better and more innovative. who doesn’t love dual screens with touch screen and microphone? nobody i know.

you know, the real actualy question i asked was which console had the better graphics and now all you epopel are talking about shit. i odn’t care how good the DS LITE or how bad the PSP is, i just need a console that has better graphics. Paolo my bro has a DS LITE and i’m not saying it sucks but the graphics are just a bit off compared to the psp so thank you for all your advice but i think i’ll just stick with psp since all PlayStation games are new for me anyways.

oh and Paolo, if you read your first feew comments on this blog, you said you were in love with both your psp and ds LITE. now your just in lvoe with your ds LITE. as you can see, the more you go against the psp the more you’ll hate it. so just a little advice, both consoles are great and no it’s not a complete waste of money. if ds LITE really is outselling psp, Sony would’ve planned out a new system coming out anyways. and the version 2.0 Psp is coming out in September and its got the colors, from white, pink, and green.

i know that i started out loving both systems, but that was when i had JUST got my ds lite. i had not known the system that well since i went away from it for a year. once i started to go to my ds lite i found out just how great it is, and i got some really nice games like brain age, the new super mario brothers, and mario kart ds. i looked at the psp game selection once again and i was extremely unsatisfied. then the memory stick made me crazy because it was so expensive, then when i heard the ipod for the first time i was overwhelmed by the sound quality. later i put images on it but the screen resolution was to small to see them very well. later i tried to put videos on it and i couldn’t and that drove me crazy. i pretty much got sick with the system and the terrible games. and i am trying to sell it on ebay but i have to go to those one places that sell it on ebay for you. and its driving me crazy!!! and thats what happened.
the reason i try to emphasize the fact that ds lite is better than psp because this is a blog dedicated to the battle of the handhelds, and when you’ve got serious sony fanboys like xxxking and psp and those other idiots its just too much fun pwning them with like 4 paragraphs of pure, cold facts, and then they comeup with like 3 sentences of bullshit. and i love seeing storm animals finishing them off. i try to use all my knowledge to proove the ds lite superior of the psp.
just to tell you, i am not a fanboy at all. i don’t buy consoles because i think “oh its cool, i should get it” or “i am loyal to this company, so i shall get this sytem” i actually take some very hard moments to figure out which one would be best for me. i analyze the games, the gameplay, the system, and then i make my decision. i bounced a lot back and forth from the wii and the 360, and i am happy that i have the 360 right now because there are a lot of kick-ass games out right now like gears of war and burnout revenge and forza 2 is coming soon and halo 3 and then next year i will get a black wii. i don’t consider ps3 because the game selection (in my opinion) is nowhere near as good as 360, and microsoft pushing the limit to try to get as many exlusives is memorable and respectable and sony is going to suffer, and i hate the controller. i am also not interested in blu-ray and i don’t want my parents buying such an expensive console for christmas.
also, i have lived with both ds lite and psp for months and months at a time and i have finally seen the weaknesses, and i see that psp is a very weak system, and i try to proove that to xxxking and warn other people to get a ds lite instead. now the only thing that i am keeping my psp for is for burnout dominator because i am not buying a ps2 for just one game. unfortunately criterion games made burnout dominator exclusive for sony which made me very mad because usually the xbox versions were better in the other burnouts. i am also looking forward to my 80gb ipod video so i will have the ultimate mp3 player.
i also hate sony because i have analyzed their history and their games and have concurred that we do NOT need playstation. i believe we don’t need a third system. my friend also believes that. i also believe that an xbox 360 sitting by a wii is the best combo ever, and they are like best friends…sony also closed lik-sang for false reasons because of the psp, and they are doing some pretty stupid things. they also went haywire with some of the decisions of the ps3, especially the controller. they also took out the sega dreamcast and we can never forgive them for that.
just to tell you, that psp 2 is just a rumor. it might never come, and hopefully it doesn’t because it will be more of sony’s time and money for nothing. also, the ds lite is owning the psp in sales, there is no doubt about it. in fact, it outsold everything this holidays. it managed to sell over 900,000 systems!!! more than xbox 360, wii, and ps3 combined!!! hey, ps3 isn’t doing that well because you can see that there are like at least 2 in every video game stores and wiis are all sold out. ouch. sony is going to be in some pain these begginning months…more to laugh at them…
now you know why i do all this. i am not a fanboy, i just proove things and i use facts instead of preferences. you see, non-fanboys are better at prooving things than fanboys, because fanboys like xxxking are failing in doing so when i already prooved the opposite of what they think. then they come back and try very pitiful attempts to proove me wrong. and look at what he writes, like 95% of what he says is false, and 99% of what i say is true, and i write like 10 times more.
yes, psp is a waste of money, read my thorough comments above. i just don’t see psp as a good system, and so do a lot of people i know. the ds lite is so much better, and its a great handheld, and the graphics aren’t that bad. i feel great with ds graphics, but i feel let down with psp graphics because they aren’t as good as their console copies.

to all of u psp fanboys, the only thing that u can come up with thats bad about the ds lite is that its graphics arent as good as the psp’s. the ds lite has more features like: touch screen, microphone, picto chat, plays gba games. The ds lite has a much much longer battery life than a psp. The psp only last up from 3-4 hours, while the ds lite does about 5times as much as that, which means that the ds lite’s battery can last up to 20 hours! That means that u can play the ds lite for most of the day without one single charge. My brother has a psp and he charges his about 3 times a day. Plus the games are way better. The graphics may not be as good as the psp but that all depends on the game. Like mario kart ds, the graphics are amazing. It is more improved than the n64 version and close to the gamecube version. Plus the ds lite is for fun anyways. The ds lite uses a variety of quality games. like one game may be 2-D and then another may be 3-D. Plus the ds lite has way more wireless capabilites. Oh yeah and another thing that people keeps saying is that “o, well the psp can play media and the ds cant.” well guess what they are all wrong. the ds can play mp3’s, full length movies, videos, and store pictures and other files. bet ya didnt know that. Plus the ds lite can download demos wirelessly from download stations. Never seen a psp do that. Then on top of that u can down load your games to afriends and play them even if they dont have the same game. for example i have mario kart, a friend had no games on him and he or she is bored so i just go to multi player and all they do is hit the download selection on the menu screen and it will wirelessly pick up the game and there we go. Playing mario kart together. And one more thing, the psp breaks too fast. the ds lite is way more durable because i droped my ds lite, i would say, 15-20 times since i have had it and i dont have a single scratch except for one onthe back.my brother droped the psp once or twice and it had a little hole in the screen and he had to get it replaced. and the sad thing is that he had it in a so called protective case. So for all of u psp fanboys the psp is a waste of money and the ds is well worth the money. if u want fun: ds lite. if u want to be pissed and unsatisfied with your $200.00 so called gaming system: psp. and im using storm animals moto: fuck the psp

paolo, if u are still looking for a wireless router for your ds to get on wifi, there is a good priced one called ativa wireless g and u can get it from office depoto or best buy. Its great i have one myself. It cost a little over $30.00 but its worth the money.

i don’t think i find nintendogs, wario ware: touched, new super mario brothers, brain age, big brain academy, castlevania: portrait of ruin, phenox wright: ace attourny, and a whole bunch of others. the only psp exclusive i know of right now is locoroco. lumines? there going to be an xbox 360 version.
games that are ds lite that were on consoles are improved. super mario 64 ds has much better graphics than the n64 version, new characters, new courses, new bosses, and a whole bunch of things that kept me glued to the ds lite for hours on end. mario kart ds is better than any other mario kart game out there, especially the dual screens the use of the microphone to blow you balloon in balloon battle, the multiplayer wifi, and the touch screen map!!! you see, what you keep on saying is wrong, and i keep on pwning you even more. GIVE ME SOME PROOF. you are so weak and you have lost. its kind of like you being shot in a battle against your enemy, with me winning, and you are just clawing at my legs doing no damage while i shoot holes in your face. hopefully you will fall soon because you have no idea what you are talking about.
oh yeah, you should be jealous that ds lite plays gba advanced games. we have over 2,000 titles that we can alternately choose from besides the amazing ds games. why was gameboy so popular? THE GAMES. even if they were 2 dimensional, they were different from the consoles (just like ds games and unlike psp games) and they were fun as hell and addicted. i loved my gba advanced, and to know that i can still return to my great gba games on the best backlit screen on any portable is one hell of an awesome thing. now i have a dual game selection and thousands of games to choose from. psp is PWNED. you should be jealous, oh wait, you have a ds lite, use it, because psp is one big piece of shit.

hmp, those psp fanboys dont get it. our comments dont seem to penetrate their skulls. Its a shame that xxxking’s mind was infected and poisoned by the psp virus. The antidote for his mind would be to get rid of that overpriced peice of junk. He already has the ds lite. Which makes his situation even more fucked up. I havent played one FUN game on the psp jet. While with my ds lite Ive played maro kart ds brain age, big brain academy, metroid primehunters, starfox command, need for speed carbon which has great graphics, new super mario bros., super mario 64, wario ware: touched, castle vania dawn of sarrow and portarait of ruin, final fantasy, final fantasy 3, digimon world ds, plus the new pokemon diamond and pearl are coming out so should i keep going? didint think so. The psp oooo, burnout, or need for speed. Well guess what? all the psp has is racing games plus those arent even half decent. They are the inferior version of the ps2. While alot of the ds games graphics are better than 64 and close to gamecube. The ds lite uses a variety of graphics so as far as im concerned the psp can suck my d##k! The psp is owned in sales, game quality, wireles capabilities, style, features, and most of all FUN. Oh yeah not to mention that nintendo has realesed many different colors of the ds lite.(some not in us yet) The psp only has black and white. They just now came out with that too. While the ds has had a variety of color since it cameout. plus the ds can be personalized beyond designer skins. well, im using storm animals saying again: fuck the psp

mario kart ds, super mario 64 ds, warioware: touched, and new super mario brothers are kickass games!!! nice!!! super mario 64 ds was probably my favorite of them all. it takes the classic and puts better graphics, more gameplay, more characters, more stars, more levels, more bosses, minigames with the touch screen, vs battle, and a whole bunch more!!! the ds lite was so great that i made another profile and i completed 150 stars on all 3 game saves!!! the difference in the ds and the ds lite was so great!!! i also liked warioware: touched. the graphical style is so unique, and the 3-D graphics look very nice!!! plus the constant use of the touch screen and microphone was dazzling and addicting, and having 2 screens was kick-ass!!! new super mario brothers was galactic, and i liked the graphical syle and the new levels. plus it was cool that when you went down a pipe the game would switch the screens. mario kart ds was by far the best mario kart game ever, double dash was also great.
so b.a.d., what do you think of those games? aren’t they fun? i am still trying to find a game on a psp that doesn’t have serious downgrading, sloppy performance, good price, or good graphics. i notice that even though psp graphics are better than ds graphics, i always seem unsatisfied with psp graphics, but i feel great with ds graphics. i wonder why??? i think the 2 screens are really sharp and the brightness and the games.
actually, there are more colors than you think for the psp. there is black, white, pink, and some kind of “champain” was rumoured. however, the ds lite comes out with better colors and styling such as onyx (black, looks pretty shiny and sick) crystal white (crisp and cool-looking clear coat over it) (enamel navy (which looks like a blue color in light, but black in dark, which is really cool) coral pink (very good tone pink, and guys wouldn’t look gay with it) and ice blue (pretty interesting tint of lighter blue). ds lite colors are better and more interesting.
pokemon diamond and pearl are going to kick-ass. fuck the psp.
